Privacy

Last updated 8 August 2026.

igg4.org is an independent, patient-built information site, built to collect as little about you as possible. This page explains in plain terms what happens to information when you use the site.

Short version:

we use no tracking or advertising cookies, we run no analytics that profile you, and we never sell or share your information. Most of what you do here stays on your device.

When you ask the assistant a question.

The "Ask about IgG4" feature sends your question, and that session's conversation, to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate an answer. This request goes to Anthropic's servers in the United States. We do not store your questions or the answers. Anthropic processes the request under its own terms. Because answers are AI-generated, please avoid typing details that identify you, and treat replies as general information, not medical advice.

The page counter.

We keep one number: a total count of page views across the whole site. It rises by one when a page loads. We do not record who you are, your IP address, which page, or when. The total appears on our stats page.

When a search finds no answer.

What stays on your device.

A few settings live only in your browser and never reach us: your chosen language, high-contrast mode, and text size. The patient alert card is the same, anything you type into it stays in your browser, is never sent to us or saved, and clears when you refresh or close the page.

Things that load from other companies.

Like most websites, a few resources load from third parties, and by loading them your browser shares your IP address with them: fonts from Google Fonts, map tiles from OpenStreetMap on the Find a specialist page, and our hosting provider, which serves the site and keeps standard security and traffic logs as any web host does. We use these to run the site, not to track you.

If you email us.

Our contact and join links open your own email app. If you write to us, we receive your message and whatever you include, at our igg4.org mailbox, and use it only to reply.

Errors.

If something breaks, our hosting tools may receive a technical error report, an error message and where it happened. These carry technical detail, not what you typed into forms or the alert card.

No accounts, no newsletter, no uploads.

There is no login, no sign-up, no mailing list, and no file uploads.

Your rights.

Because we store almost nothing that identifies you, there is usually nothing for us to look up or delete. If you have emailed us and want that removed, or have any privacy question, write to hello@igg4.org. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes.

If this notice changes, we will update the date at the top.
