Our story

I was told I most likely had pancreatic cancer.

A lesion on the tail of my pancreas, read as a probable adenocarcinoma. For a while, that was the word I carried.

The tissue told a different story. IgG4-related disease, an immune condition that imitates cancer well enough to be mistaken for it. The diagnosis I feared most gave way to one that gave me my life back, because this disease can be treated.

By then, years had passed with signs in my blood that no one had followed.

The treatment keeps me awake. Some nights I am up with questions about my own body and nowhere good to take them. So I did what anyone does now. I searched.

I found very little. Pages that promised information and led to dead links. Communities that existed mostly in name. For a disease where delay can cause lasting harm, the help a frightened person could actually reach was thin.

So I decided to build the thing I could not find.

This is it. A place that does the searching for you. It finds what has been published about IgG4-related disease, shows you where each piece comes from, gives you the link, and points you to a specialist. It does not diagnose, and it does not replace your doctor. It hands you what you need to walk into your next appointment knowing more than you did.

I am a patient, not a doctor. That is the point. The authority stays with the sources and the specialists. I am the one who gathered them, so you do not have to do it alone in the middle of the night.

My lovely wife Vanessa and I wrote "Balanced Divinity", a book inspired by life force, love and also by the life experience this disease gave us, and that book is the only thing behind this project. No company, no sponsor. Two people who decided the next patient deserves an easier road.

If you live with this disease, treat it, or love someone who has it, there is room for you here. Bring a source we missed. Lend your name. Help someone find their footing. I built this for us, and it will be better with you in it.
